TOP-TIER COMPONENTS
FOX 38 PERFORMANCE
SMOOTHER – STIFFER – MORE TUNABLE THAN EVER BEFORE
The Fox 38 Performance fork, also known as the hard hitting long-travel Enduro Specialist, is redefining what you think a single crown fork is capable of. With 170mm of travel and innovative technology, The Fox 38 fork inspires confidence and performance through its smooth damping, stiff chassis and ability to tune compression and rebound. The all new 38 utilises EVOL technology, increasing negative air spring volume; thus, optimising small bump sensitivity.
FLOAT X2 PERFORMANCE ELITE
MORE CONTROL – LESS FRICTION – BETTER DAMPER
Deemed by Bikeradar as ‘one of the most capable shocks I’ve ever ridden’ and MTB-mag as ‘far and away the best performing air shock I’ve used to date’, we couldn’t agree more. This ultra-plush ‘coil like’ rear suspension is a game changer. Along with the incredible damping prowess and lightweight nature of an air spring and unmatched level of tunability, the float X2 paired with the all new 6-Bar linkage brings new levels of control and performance to every terrain imaginable.
SHIMANO DEORE XT DRIVETRAIN
LIGHTWEIGHT – ROBUST – RELIABLE
From the enhanced speed and shifting efficiency of the Hyperglide+ technology, it’s obvious to see why the original mountain bike groupset is trusted by generations of mountain bikers around the world. The XT derailleur, shifter, and cranks, the Colossus comes with a 10-51T cassette – giving you a whopping 510% gear range. This means you’ll have the perfect gear – whether you’re hammering it up a steep climb or bombing a descent. This lightweight 1X12-speed drivetrain is packed with innovative technology and is truly changing the way we shift.
SRAM CODE R BRAKES
RELIABLE – PRACTICAL – POWERFUL
With their newly designed DirectLink lever and oversized four-piston caliper, these brakes provide all the braking power you need to shred this bike. Paired with a 200mm (Front) and 200mm(Rear) rotor, the brakes strike the perfect balance between being reliable, practical and powerful. SRAM CODE R brakes are designed for heavy-duty demands (including metallic pads – providing you with more power and longer wear) whilst being easy to maintain.
GEOMETRY
PRO-LEVEL QUALITY
TESTED BY THE BEST – POLYGON FACTORY RACING
Spotted at the Enduro World Series 2022 (EWS), the Polygon Factory Racing (PFR) team put the new stead through its paces. Team riders Dan Wolfe, Matt Stuttard and Brady Stone, raced the EWS circuit covering the globe – from Europe to North America and Canada. It doesn’t just stop there though… Amy Morrison claimed her third US National title riding the Collosus N9 and represented Team USA at the EWS Trophy of Nations 2022. Proven to perform at the highest level, this beast is meant to be pushed beyond its limits.
RACE-READY GEOMETRY
CAPABLE – AGGRESSIVE – AGILE
The trail stomping Collosus features a slack 63.5° head angle with a long reach and a low bottom bracket. Combined with the 29” wheels and short offset fork for a long trail, the stability and high-speed composure is confidence inspiring. Whilst shredding those rowdy back-country descents, you can be confident that the N9 will come out the other side, ripping up steep climbs – thanks to the steep 77° seat angle and low, forward center of gravity. The all new 6-bar linkage provides an efficient pedaling platform while going uphill, precise handling, comfortability at high speeds, unmatched grip, and the ability to boost jumps and style it out for the camera.
DESIGNED FOR THE TOUGH STUFF
DAVID MEETS GOLIATH – AGGRESSIVE YET NIMBLE
From the aggressive 29” wheels and beefy Magic Mary Evo 2.6″ tires, 170mm of travel, low standover height and modern reach numbers, the Colossus N9 eats up gnarly roots and rocks – all whilst staying composed. Thanks to the short chainstays (due to the IFS suspension) and modern reach numbers, you’ll be able to easily whip the bike around corners whilst still maintaining front wheel grip and staying controlled. Some say that you can’t have it all, well, we disagree.
VALUE MEETS PERFORMANCE
UNBEATABLE VALUE
Along with being touted as “one of the best value enduro bikes on the market” (FLOW, 2022) and a serious “bang for buck” (Bikerumour, 2022), the N9 is a force to be reckoned with – boasting a modern geo, short chainstays, and efficient pedaling platform – keeping you hungry for more after each run. Staying true to Polygon’s roots, the N9 is no impersonator – it’s not an overly expensive lightweight carbon enduro bike – it’s a race-ready machine that doesn’t break the bank and keeps you wanting more.
COMPONENTS
INDEPENDENT FLOATING SUSPENSION (IFS)
CALM – SMOOTH – STABLE
Looks fast, feels faster – thanks to the all new 6-bar linkage. The Independent Floating Suspension (IFS) controls the wheel path and anti-squat independently of the leverage curve; meaning, you will have the control of wheel behaviour and the rear shock separately. No compromise between small-bump performance and suspension progressiveness.
“I really like how the new linkage design works! The rear end just glides through the rough sections while feeling stable and planted.” – Brady Stone, Polygon Factory Racing
“The suspension is calm enough that I didn’t feel the need to flip the Float X2’s climb switch, and even on longer fire road grinds I was perfectly content keeping it in the open position.” – PinkBike
“The beauty about the IFS linkage is that it remains nice and smooth on choppy terrain.” – FLOW
MONSTER GRIP – TUBELESS READY
GRAVITY ORIENTED – TOUGH – DURABLE
The Collosal 2.6” Schwalbe Magic Mary Super Gravity tires, fitted on the 29” wheels, eat up the chunky stuff when the going gets tough. From the large side knobs and widely spaced center lugs, it’s a hail Mary – sending you downhill, fast. Regardless of the terrain, loose to mixed, the traction keeps the rubber side down. The tires come with the softer (orange stripe) ADDIX compound – providing you with better damping, grip, and rolling.
SLEEK DESIGN – INTERNAL CABLE ROUTING
OPERATION COLLOSUS – IT’S A GO
Militant vibes aside, the army green N9 is built with rider experience in mind. Whether you’re hucking it off a jump or shredding it into a technical corner, you’ll be rattle free (literally that is). The derailleur, brake, and dropper lines are routed internally – subtly complimenting the robust and militant nature of the beast.
MADE FOR ABUSE
CHAINSTAY & SHUTTLE PROTECTOR – CHAIN GUIDE & BASH GUARD – MUD GUARD
One could say the N9 is born to be rowdy – showcasing a variety of trail ready features. With the Collosus being an Enduro beast, you’ll definitely be hitting up the shuttles on occasion and Polygon knows that – so they’ve provided you additional peace of mind by incorporating a shuttle-guard underneath the downtube. They didn’t just stop there though, they’ve kitted the drivetrain out with the lightweight e*thirteen TRS Plus guide with bash guard – both preventing gnarly obstacles from smashing up your chainrings whilst providing you with optimal chain retention (keeping that slop tight when cranking out the power).
While you’re getting stuck in, sending it down the hill over the chunky stuff, you can be confident that if you experience chain slap (in that off occasion), the ribbed chainstay protector will keep that paint looking fresh. Oh and who can forget, when you’re ripping into those back-country lines on those muddy days, the mudguard will keep the trail where it belongs.
